The school year has come again, so we thought of rounding up our favorite Science Bob experiments. Check them out with your kids in the afternoons or weekends, to make them more interested in the Science Experiments subjects at school…and to just have a great time together! Which is your favorite one? Let us know in the comments below!
The fact that bones cannot be bent is probably common sense to your child by now. Well get ready to challenge that! Got a jar, vinegar and 3 days?
Take the bone from a chicken leg (or the “drumstick” bone) and rinse it thoroughly, so that it doesn’t have any meat attached to it anymore. Then put the bone in a jar and pour enough vinegar over it to entirely cover the bone. Close the lid, and after 3 days, take the bone out, rinse it and give it to your kiddo to bend. Magic huh?
With kids, it’s all about visual effects, and this experiment sure is one of the most captivating ones. You’ll need a clean 16 ounce plastic bottle, 1/2 cup 6% solution (20-volume) hydrogen peroxide liquid, 1 tablespoon of dry yeast, 3 tablespoons of warm water, liquid dish washing soap, food coloring, a small cup, and safety glasses(!).
First things first – put the safety glasses on yourself and your kid as well. Place the bottle on a tray or a washable surface, pour the hydrogen peroxide in the bottle, and add 8 drops of food coloring. Then add 1 tablespoon of dish washing liquid in the bottle as well, and swish it all around to mix. In the small cup, combine yeast and water, and mix for about 30 seconds. Ready? Pour the yeast mixture in the bottle, step away and see your child go “WHOOOOAH”!
If you make any of these experiments come true, we’d love to see a video or a picture of the whole process! Feel free to send them to us to email@example.com or post on social media – just don’t forget to tag us, so we can check your post out.
