Enjoying physical activities shouldn’t mean compromising your wrist health

Wrist injury or wrist strain is something most sports enthusiasts have to contend with at some point or another. While necessary precautions should always be taken to prevent or minimize the risk of injury, nobody should ever have to cut down on their favorite activities. But what can we do to prevent it?

In most sports – especially racket sports – our wrists are constantly in motion and often under a great amount of stress. From swinging a baseball bat to entering a scrum, the wrists are torqued in all different directions during sports, sometimes suddenly or at awkward angles. As a result, effective wrist protection needs to support the entire wrist, and it should ideally be in place before, during and after sporting activity. Enter, NoCry.

At NoCry, we’re determined to mitigate the risks associated with sports and wrist injuries, so you can continue enjoying your favorite activities without worrying about pain afterwards. Here, we’ll introduce you to two of our newest wrist guards that prioritize the safety and comfort of your wrists whatever your chosen sport is. Come take a look!

The Hard Design

The Wrist Guard Hard Design is the perfect choice for intensive sports, or simply managing daily wrist pain and recovery. The ABS splints at the top of the guards are designed to protect you against wrist joint injury, while the removable ABS splints in the palm provide extra impact resistance.

The wrist guards are complete with durable EVA padding and a cotton lining between the support splints to heighten the ergonomic design and add further cushioning. These design elements make our Hard Design Wrist Guards suitable for high-intensity sports, so you can be as active as you want from morning to night.

Something you want to be sure of when investing in a wrist brace is durability and longevity, and ours feature wear-resistant PU leather in the palms for long-term peace of mind. Comfortable and breathable, the guards also feature our signature 600D Oxford fabric to ensure your skin stays cool and dry, with sweat kept to a minimum!

Our Hard Design Wrist Guards offer hardcore protection, but that doesn’t mean they’re a hassle to wear. In fact, we’ve made sure you can put them on and take them off with ease, equipping them with three adjustable straps and a hook and loop design that ensures ease of wear for men, women and children.

The Soft Design

Our Wrist Guard Soft Design is a better choice for low-intensity sports or day-to-day activities, thanks to a lightweight and flexible design that protects your wrists while affording extra freedom of movement. The soft design guards feature 4-way breathable stretch mesh down both sides that keeps sweat at bay, and the slim-fitted design slides seamlessly under gloves for an extra layer of support in any setting.

They also feature EVA foam and Elastic PP board split, which provides extra support and shock resistance to reduce the risk of injury. These design features are packed into an extremely lightweight design, making them ideal for a wide range of sports, carpal tunnel support and preventing repetitive strain injuries.

Similarly to our hard design wrist guards, the soft design wrist guards boast adjustable hook and loop straps, making for an effortless slip-on and slip-off experience. Better yet, they come in 3 different sizes to fit just about anybody – they’re so comfortable they’ll feel like a second skin!

When to use a wrist guard

When playing sports, a fall could seriously harm your wrists – especially as the natural reflex is to stretch out your hands in front of you to cushion the landing. Falls like these can lead to a sprained wrist, or worse, a break. Enter the NoCry Wrist Guards, which function as a powerful shield for your wrists!

Our ergonomic wrist guard designs help you to avoid sustaining an injury to your wrist during physical activity, and they can also facilitate recovery from an existing injury. Not sure whether wrist protection is relevant to you? If you do any of these sports, the answer is probably yes:

  • Skating
  • Snowboarding
  • Rollerblading
  • Roller Derby
  • Mountain Biking
  • Motocross
  • Enduro Racing.

Who should use a wrist guard?

Wrist injuries do not discriminate. We therefore recommend that anyone participating in high-intensity exercises use a wrist guard. Both of our Wrist Guards are suitable for women, men, and kids – essentially, anyone who loves to keep active but wants to keep their wrists out of harm’s way.

How to put on a wrist guard

Customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do at NoCry. As a result, all of our wrist guards are extremely easy to wear, with streamlined design features that make them easy to put on and take off. Thanks to the adjustable hook and loop straps, you can tighten or loosen the wrist guards to fit exactly as you need them to.

Protecting your wrists, comfortably

On both our Hard and Soft Design Wrist Guards, we have enlisted the best materials to allow for maximum comfort and breathability. For the Hard Design, we use Oxford fabric 600D to create an airy feel and keep sweat under control, while still providing an excellent amount of compression. For the Soft Design, the 4-way stretch breathable mesh also helps to minimize sweat and give your wrists complete freedom of movement.

Final thoughts

There’s nothing worse than a wrist injury getting in the way of something you love doing. By donning a pair of our wrist guards – be they the hard Design or the soft – you’ll be looking out for a key part of your body that is most vulnerable to injury during those adrenaline-pumping activities.

Trust us when we say this: leaving your arms and hands unprotected is not a wrist worth taking!
